He brings deep expertise across application, network, identity, compliance, operations, and cloud security, pairing strong technical acumen with practical business execution. Beyond his industry work, Bilal is also a professor, teaching the next generation of technology and security professionals as a way of giving back to the community. He holds several professional designations, including the Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert.
Martin Lee, EMEA Lead, Talos Strategic Planning & Communications at Cisco
Martin Lee is a cybersecurity specialist with over 20 years of experience in threat intelligence, researching the evolving threat landscape and liaising with entities in the public and private sector. He began his career researching human viruses at the University of Oxford before transitioning to information security, bringing his analytical expertise to identifying emerging cyber threats. Martin is the author of "Cyber Threat Intelligence" (Wiley, 2023), a comprehensive guide for professionals entering or working in the threat intelligence field. He currently pursues a part-time doctorate in Sociology at Oxford, exploring cybersecurity from a sociological perspective while continuing his work at Cisco. Martin also serves on Europol's Advisory Board for Internet Security at the European Cybercrime Centre (EC3) and as an Associate Expert for the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Centre.
